cPanel vs Plesk, What's the Difference ?

cPanel / Plesk is a web hosting control panel that provides a graphical display and automation equipment made to facilitate the hosting process on a website. cPanel / Plesk is made to make it easier for users or managers of hosting or websites to create, install, and manage databases, applications, or scripts.

Then what is the Control panel for?

Control Panel is used to manage websites that are on the server or hosting. With the control panel, we can see statistics, install or delete websites, manage e-mail, and much more, which is certainly related to the management of the website owned.

Here are some of the differences and advantages of cPanel with Plesk:

In appearance, Plesk has a clean and centralized display, making it easier to use and has centralized functions and tools, such as the application installation.

In cPanel, those who are not accustomed will find it difficult to manage cPanel. However, if you are used to it, cPanel will be easy to use.

Tools and Installer

In tools, Plesk and cPanel both have lots of tools that are useful for viewing statistics, managing e-mail, databases, and others.

For installers, Plesk has an automatic feature of installing applications or CMS that have been given centrally.

Unlike cPanel, which usually uses softacolus to automatically install applications or CMS and must have a softacolus license to activate it. But usually, providers provide cPanel which already includes softacolus. So no longer need the softacolus license to use the automatic install application or CMS in cPanel.

User Access

Plesk has one login for administrators and users. So with the Plesk Control Panel, the ease of making e-mail and subdomains will be more pronounced. The Admin panel at Plesk looks more professional.
In cPanel, there is a Web Host Manager (WHM) which can facilitate the creation of users and separate logins and access rights from each user.

OS Support

Plesk can be run on a Linux or Windows Operating System. Whereas cPanel, only runs on CentOS, RedHat and CloudLinux and cannot run on Windows OS.

Removing the Panel

Removing cPanel is not possible. This requires formatting the server and reinstalling the operating system.

Plesk can be removed by running an uninstall script available for Plesk but that is not recommended.

Migration

Both of these control panels, cPanel and the Plesk Control Panel have the same ease of migration. But of course this migration usually applies to similar control panels.

cPanel to cPanel and or Plesk to Plesk.

Migration between control panels is also possible, but certainly not as easy as migrating with the same control panel.

Support Request

Plesk has a fairly detailed request form support that requires more extensive information including products, product versions, OS versions, work environment and problems.

In cPanel there is access to support services from your web host via email by entering your name, email address and problem.
